Day 1
Vilnius. Lithuania.
Arrival to Vilnius. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Vilnius .
Day 2.
Vilnius and Trakai.
First half of the day walking city tour of Vilnius. The tour will include: visit to Cathedral Square, St.Ann and Bernardine’s Church, Russian Orthodox Church, The Gates of Dawn, Town Hall Square, Vilnius University (founded in 1579) and St.John’s Church.
Afternoon trip to Trakai Castle on the island surrounded by lakes. Overnight in Vilnius.
Day 3.
Vilnius – Kaunas – Klaipeda.
Trip to Kaunas (100 km).Tour in Kaunas Old town, visiting St.Peter’s and Paul’s Church, St.Vytautas Church, Town Hall Square. Trip to Klaipeda (200 km) and arrival in the afternoon. Sightseeing of the Port city (founded in 1252) . Dinner. Overnight in Klaipeda.
Day 4.
The Curonian Spit.
A full day excursion to the Curonian Spit. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 98 km long sand-dune spit that seperates Curonian fresh water Lagoon from the Baltic sea. The Curonian Spit has the highest moving sand dunes in Europe. Return to Klaipeda in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Klaipeda.
Day 5.
Klaipeda – Hill of Crosses – Rundale Palace – Riga.
On the way to Riga – visit to the Hill of Crosses. It has over 100 thousand crosses and one of them was built by Pope John Paul II who visited the Hill of Crosse in 1999 declaring it a place for hope, peace, love and sacrifice. Visit to Rundale Palace a unique treasury of Baroque and Rococo art constructed in 18th century. Dinner and overnight in Riga.
Day 6.
Riga.
First half of the day walking tour to the Old town of Riga. You will visit medieval Hanseatic town, St.Peter’s Church, Riga castle, Dome Cathedral, The Old Guild Houses.
Free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Riga.
Day 7.
Riga – Gauja National Park – Tallinn.
Visit of the Gauja National Park. It is the largest national park of Latvia with a wonderful nature. You will also see the medieval castle of Turaida. Arrival to Tallinn in the evening. Dinner and overnight in Tallinn.
Day 8.
Tallinn.
First half of the day walking tour to Old town of Tallinn. The tour includes: Toompea Castle fortifications, The Dome Church (13th century), the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Alexandr Nevskij (19th century), Town Hall Square (15th century), the Old Guild, St.Olaf’s Church.
Free time in the afternoon.
Day 9.
Tallinn.
Breakfest. Check-out. End of the tour.
